Episode Overview
Jim is summoned by crime lord Sabatini, who tasks him with going to Calliope, Missouri, to protect a woman and hand over a key to a man named Swanson. Joined by government chemist Ned Brown, Jim heads to Calliope, a town marked by the recent death of an Army finance officer who had embezzled half a million dollars. Upon arrival, they discover that Swanson has been murdered, and the woman in need of protection is revealed to be Sylvia, Sabatini's blind ward. As the plot unfolds, Jim learns that Sabatini was the officer and that Sylvia is the daughter of Boorman, Sabatini's accomplice in the heist. While evading Boorman, Jim and Ned uncover a deed that leaves all of Sabatini's assets to Sylvia.
