With summer upon them, the Funnies set out on a road trip to the Great Painted Gorge. Phil is determined to stick to their itinerary, but Doug and Judy persuade him to make stops at various roadside attractions. Initially, the family struggles to enjoy the journey, but everything changes when they eventually arrive at a destination that makes the entire trip worthwhile.
