Episode Overview

Hanley and his squad find themselves captured, and their camp soon comes under heavy artillery fire. The Germans manage to take all but Saunders, prompting the men to seize the chaos as an opportunity to escape. Once they reach safety, Hanley conducts a head count, only to discover that Saunders is missing. The men urge him to go back for their comrade, but Hanley refuses. Meanwhile, Saunders, suffering from severe burns on his hands from the fire that burned his restraints, follows them. In their search for food, the team raids a German camp, but tragedy strikes when Kelly is killed while trying on boots that a German soldier had taken from him. They eventually make it back to their lines, with a disoriented Saunders trailing behind, mistakenly believing he’s carrying his deceased brother.
