In "Lost Sheep, Lost Shepherd," Jeffrey Hunter plays Sgt. Dane, a tanker consumed by rage towards the world, the war, and even God. He also harbors resentment towards Hanley and Saunders. When a German offensive leaves Hanley and his squad trapped behind enemy lines, they are unexpectedly rescued by Dane and his tank. However, their relief is fleeting as Dane's volatile anger spirals into brutality, revealing a dark truth he struggles to bear: he is a failed priest who has become a killer.
