Title: Toxic Waters Plot: Miner Len Keith is eager to acquire a tract of land next to the Ponderosa owned by rancher Andy McKaren. Andy's son, Tod, is keen to sell, as he has feelings for Len's daughter and has been offered a partnership. However, when Ben cautions Andy about the potential contamination of Ponderosa's water supply from a mine on the land, Andy decides against the sale. Undeterred, Len concocts a scheme to undermine the Cartwrights by introducing cattle infested with ticks into their herd, hoping to drive a wedge between the two families.
