Episode Overview

While herding cattle across the Ponderosa, the Cartwrights and Candy stumble upon a dying cavalry officer on the trail. With his final words, he urges them to assist his commanding officer, Captain Harris. As they ride up a slope, they spot Captain Harris and his men engaged in a fierce battle against Mexican bandits trying to seize four kegs of gold from the Army ambulance. The Cartwrights and Candy charge right into the fray, navigating a thrilling chase through a narrow valley before reaching a high, rocky outcrop where they take cover and lend their support to the soldiers.
