Episode Overview
Fran is overjoyed to share the news that Maxwell has finally professed his love for her, and this time he meant it! The family celebrates her happiness, though C.C. is less than enthusiastic. Meanwhile, Maxwell confides in Niles about his plans to propose to Fran that evening with a beautiful engagement ring. Unable to keep the secret, he spills the beans to Fran, who in turn informs Sylvia, leading to everyone being in on the surprise. Maxwell requests that Fran gather her family for a significant dinner at the Rainbow Room. As the Sheffield and Fine families eagerly await his arrival, Maxwell inexplicably fails to show up. Concerned for his well-being, Fran searches for him and discovers a knocked-out Mr. Sheffield behind the theater, a victim of thieves who have stolen his watch and Fran’s ring. Despite the mishap, he still manages to propose to Fran.
