Episode Overview
Fran decides to stay at her mother's house to avoid seeing Maxwell the day before their wedding. Meanwhile, Maxwell's sister arrives and delivers unsettling news: their mother won't be attending because of her disdain for Fran. Initially worried, Maxwell soon brushes it off, realizing it doesn’t matter. Fran heads to Jersey to pick up a special white negligee for their wedding night. On the way back, Val's car unexpectedly breaks down in a remote area, forcing Val, Sylvia, and Fran to wait all day for help. During this time, Maxwell receives a surprising visit from Sara, his deceased wife, who wishes him well and reveals she played a part in bringing Fran into his life. Eventually, Val's mother arrives to rescue them.
