Episode Overview

Walter Townsend is revealed to be a double agent after the U.S. government feeds him false information intended to mislead the enemy, hoping to embarrass them if they take it seriously. However, his contact, Simpson, realizes the information is a ruse and reports to his superiors that Townsend is defecting. Aware of Simpson's envy toward Townsend, they send their top intelligence officer, Stefan Miklos, to uncover the truth. The IMF needs to convince Miklos of the falsehood while discrediting Simpson. Rollin impersonates Miklos, extracts Simpson, and takes his place. The IMF sets up deceptive clues to make Miklos believe Townsend is indeed a traitor, but Miklos uncovers a planted clue that reveals the IMF's scheme. He connects the dots and gets information from Rollin, disguised as Simpson, and Jim, who he recognizes as part of the IMF operation.
