The St. Patrick's Day sales showdown between Cheers and Gary's Olde Towne Tavern is on, but this year, Cheers faces defeat once again. Woody unwittingly becomes the target of the chaos, and the bar ultimately loses the sales wager. Sam, fed up with the constant losses and the embarrassing consequences that follow, is ready to confront Gary. He considers calling in Harry the Hat for a clever scheme, but Harry turns him down. Despite Carla's insistence on taking action herself, Sam ultimately concedes defeat to Gary. When he heads to Gary's to surrender, he’s shocked to uncover what he believes is Carla's scheme, only to realize it’s part of a deal Gary struck with Rutherford Cunningham, whom Sam knows by another name.
