The daughter of Reno's devoted friend, Assistant D.A. Wells, starts to spiral into a world of drug addiction. As Reno and Cheyenne dig deeper, they realize this family crisis is far more complex than they first imagined. They uncover a tangled web that includes black market drugs, a traveling rock band, and a crooked band manager who intends to exploit the girl to pressure Wells into dismissing the upcoming case against her brother, a well-known drug dealer.
