Episode Overview

In a surprising twist, Light, who is posing as L, informs Near that his sister Sayu has been taken hostage by an unknown assailant seeking to exchange her for the Death Note. Near discovers that the exchange is set to occur in Los Angeles and vows to assist Light. However, unbeknownst to Near, Light is secretly devising a plan to seize the Death Note for himself and apprehend Kira in the process.
