Murdoch finds himself entangled in the scandalous realm of Victorian erotica and blackmail while probing the murder of Abigail Tunstall, a young woman known for her risqué photographs. As he interviews Abigail's acquaintances and family, he stumbles upon one of her suggestive images, which leads him to a photography studio run by Marcus Evans. Digging through the photo archives for clues, Murdoch makes a shocking revelation: one of the models featured in these erotic images is none other than Sally Pendrick, the alluring wife of his adversary, the wealthy industrialist James Pendrick.
