Clarence MacFarlane, the owner of the SS Keewatin, receives a menacing threat, prompting Detective Murdoch and Inspector Brackenreid to step in and investigate. As the ship prepares for its inaugural journey to Rochester, New York, Murdoch decides to remain on board after discovering that Julia is among the passengers. Their probing reveals a genuine danger lurking for the vessel.
