Episode Overview

The newspapers buzz daily with stories about a ghostly figure at Ryouunkaku. Rokurou, who oversees the affairs of Asakusa, hires Takuboku to investigate the phenomenon. On his way to the location, Takuboku runs into an old acquaintance, Yamaoka, a former journalist. It's clear that Yamaoka has a link to the haunting, but he abruptly departs, leaving Takuboku with the cryptic phrase "throat moon." Shortly after, the magic lantern projectionist Matsukichi is found dead. Takuboku recalls that two months prior, Matsukichi had encountered a woman who had been assaulted, prompting him to explore a possible connection between the incidents.
