Episode Overview

Compo is feeling restless since Cyril Blamire moved to Oswestry to start a new life with a woman, leaving things a bit too quiet for his liking. Just when he thinks the monotony will never end, Clegg offers a remedy: a letter from Blamire asking them to assist an old friend, Foggy Dewhurst, who is struggling to adjust after being pushed into retirement. When Compo and Clegg meet the war veteran, Foggy quickly makes an impression with his unique background and endless tales from the battlefield. However, his rigid military demeanor leads to a clash with Big Malcolm, and his so-called precision proves useless when they attempt to haul Foggy's heavy wartime gear up a hill.
