Episode Overview

On June 19, 1964, Jim Bunning takes the mound for the Phillies as the Pryor family kicks off their annual vacation in Wildwood. However, Roxanne is left out of the fun due to her ongoing resentment towards a troubled Meg. Meanwhile, Roxanne's affluent new friend Carol has invited her to join a beach club at "the Crest." In a gesture of goodwill, Meg secures entry for Carol and her friends to a Bandstand beach "hop" featuring the Kinks, with Third Eye Blind performing the tribute. Back home, Helen confides in Jack about Professor Witt's proposition, while JJ spends time with Beth as Henry manages the store in North Philly amidst the heatwave and a closed city pool.
