Episode Overview
In the episode "Soldier Boy," Roxanne is convinced that Meg is the "Blurry Girl" featured in a teen magazine dancing with Jimmy Riley. Meanwhile, Jack and Helen are in New York for a reunion of Jack's World War II unit. Beth struggles to get through to J.J., who continuously shuts her out. At a Bandstand rehearsal, Meg meets Jay from Jay and The Americans, and they instantly connect, as do Roxanne and Carl the drummer. They organize a party at the Pryor's house. In New York, Helen encounters a man who credits Jack with saving his life in the war. Patty learns about the party and invites her spelling-bee rival, Kevin, hoping to impress him with Jay Black's presence. As J.J. and Will discover Jack's 'Medal of Honor' while clearing out Meg's room, Jay suggests an alternative venue for the party. Chaos ensues when Beth and Kevin arrive, and J.J. and Beth get into an argument
