Episode Overview

Students Sonja Rendell and Marni Sheppeard embark on a three-day hike through the stunning Arthur's Pass National Park, where they plan to explore thermal mud pools before heading home for Christmas with their families. However, their route is obstructed by ice, prompting them to take an alternate path. What begins as a steep incline quickly turns into a daunting cliff, leaving Sonja precariously gripping the rock with just her fingertips. With no way back to the trail, the girls find themselves battling to survive on a narrow ledge amid relentless rain and wind. Can Sonja and Marni find a way to safety?
