Episode Overview
Dr. Mark Muir, whose true name is Marcas Malone, is the son of Sean, a Catholic dockworker from Belfast. Sean, a weary alcoholic, has been deeply affected by a life filled with struggles, and his sole source of pride is Mark. He fears that revealing Mark's true identity could jeopardize his son's job at the Protestant-run shipyard. Mark remains cautious as he uncovers troubling information about the steel being used, putting him at odds with chief designer Thomas Andrews. Amid rising social unrest, labor leader Jim Larkin rallies workers in Belfast. Meanwhile, Kitty Carlton tries to enchant Mark, while Sofia intensifies her personal battle for freedom, rejecting her father's apprentice, Andrea Valle, much to his dismay.
