As the city grapples with a rampant cocaine crisis, Thackery becomes increasingly anxious about Dr. Levi Zinberg, a Jewish surgeon and innovator, potentially overshadowing him at the upcoming New York Surgical Society meeting. Meanwhile, Bertie is still pursuing Lucy, all while facing pressure from his father to abandon his role at the Knickerbocker Hospital. In an effort to contain “Typhoid Mary” Mallon, Cornelia, Speight, and Bertie head to court. Gallinger makes attempts to help Eleanor navigate her sorrow and move forward.
