With eight aspiring artists still competing, the stakes rise as they venture to ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, tasked with painting live animals. Capturing the essence of these vibrant creatures proves to be quite the challenge, and mentors Pascal and Diana are there to guide them throughout the process. The competition kicks off with the artists tackling the flamboyant flamingos, whose seemingly simple shapes create difficulties for some. The judges are quick to critique their attempts, leaving no stone unturned. Next, the artists shift their focus to the elephant enclosure, where they encounter these majestic giants. The judges are keen to see the artists portray the lifelike qualities, including the elephants’ textured skin and impressive size. Who will meet the challenge head-on, and whose work will fall flat?
