T's father, Thad, who once enjoyed a brief moment of fame in a one-hit wonder group, pays a rare visit with dreams of forming a new band with his son. This puts T in a tough position as he weighs the choice between collaborating with his dad or remaining loyal to his current group, Freestyle Unity. Meanwhile, Andell faces an awkward situation with Nikki when her cousin Lurlene, visiting from Louisiana, inadvertently ends up with a date with Professor Oglevee.
