Episode Overview

Mr. Zelinka, a cherished teacher, faces mandatory retirement at the age of 70, as the school board president believes he can no longer handle his teaching duties. Determined to celebrate their beloved mentor, the students at Lincoln High organize a combined birthday and retirement party. However, their excitement wanes when Mr. Zelinka expresses reluctance to attend due to the news of his retirement. In a bid to keep him from leaving, the students rally together to create a petition. Yet, they encounter a tough challenge when they attempt to present it to the school board president, who remains uninterested in their concerns.
