Episode Overview

Mike reluctantly extends an invitation to his brother Rusty, who is living in a tent for the time being, and their father, Big Mike, who has recently suffered a broken hip, to the Heck family's Thanksgiving celebration. Observing the stoic demeanor of the Heck men, Frankie pushes a hesitant Mike to open up and have a meaningful conversation with them. Meanwhile, Brick is thrilled to learn that Bob is bringing his girlfriend, Linda, the local librarian who shares his love for books, to the holiday gathering. Sue, eager to establish a new mother-daughter tradition, sets out to bake a pie but finds herself more injured than the ingredients.
