Axl comes back from his summer adventure in Europe, sporting a man-bun and a laid-back attitude. While Mike is eager for him to tidy up and start job hunting, Frankie believes Axl will take the initiative and urges Mike to give him some space. Meanwhile, after spending her summer working at Spudsy’s and missing out on fun, Sue plans to pack two days' worth of excitement before heading back to college. Brick decides to end things with Cindy, wanting the freedom to enjoy his upcoming “big sophomore year.” Meanwhile, Frankie is on a mission to find the perfect item for a time capsule to be buried under the Orson cow, hoping it will help the Hecks be remembered a century later.
