Episode Overview

Louise, Grace's mother, surprises the family with a holiday visit, bringing her traditional views on raising girls. She is critical of Libby's tomboyish ways and is determined to transform her into a refined young lady, starting with a gift of ballet slippers. Grace, however, opposes Louise's plans, valuing Libby's strong and independent spirit. The pressure from her grandmother leaves Libby feeling uneasy. In another storyline, Russell is running a "Photos With Santa" event at the pharmacy, with Quentin as the photographer. Russell feels let down when Dot refuses to wear a goofy elf costume for the photos.
