Episode Overview
In her 40s, Becca (Pamela Bellwood) reflects on the summer of '92. Now a married doctor, she faces a bittersweet reunion with Jesse. Throughout the episode, Becca tries to avoid Jesse while mingling with her new friends, who are unaware of his HIV status. The truth comes out when Jesse unexpectedly shows up at their pool party. Although they invite him to join, he declines, mentioning he has to visit the hospice. When someone questions whether he fears contracting AIDS, Jesse reveals his HIV+ status and admonishes Becca for not informing them, emphasizing the ongoing reality of AIDS. New characters are introduced, including Kathy Goodman, a lively extrovert eager for Becca to embrace life, and Harris Cassidy and Eric, who manage the Nevermore Bookstore where Becca and Kathy work.
