In the examination section of St. Bonaventure Hospital, Dr. Shaun Murphy meets a young boy who bears a striking resemblance to his late brother, Steve. When Shaun learns that the boy's parents have concealed his medical condition from him, he grapples with the injustice of being denied the truth about his own health. At the same time, the medical team is puzzled by a series of escalating allergic reactions among their patients and urgently works to identify the source before another patient suffers a fatal outcome.
