As a group of aspiring residents competes for positions at St. Bonaventure, Chief of Surgery Dr. Audrey Lim enlists Dr. Shaun Murphy, Dr. Claire Browne, and Dr. Alex Park to guide the leading first-year candidates. While their mentees observe them throughout the day, Shaun and Park have a meeting with Andrews to go over a challenging surgery set for a young patient. During their discussion about the surgery's potential risks and benefits, Shaun inadvertently offends Lea. Meanwhile, Dr. Morgan Reznick seeks assistance from Claire and Lim regarding a consult.
