While Jeremiah is away, Marty has no choice but to take his son Roscoe along for a work trip to San Francisco. Eager for some bonding time, Roscoe soon finds himself more involved with the Pod than his father, as Marty ends up looking after Alex Katsnelson, the young CEO of a security software firm. In a parallel storyline, Jeannie grapples with her new engagement and ends up having a passionate encounter with Kurt, a brooding musician she unexpectedly encounters at a coffee shop.
