Episode Overview
On September 9, 1959, rock 'n' roll is on the cusp of exploding in popularity, but Peoria isn’t ready for it. The fate of the local radio station hangs in the balance, as DJ Howlin' Chick Howell, played by Sam, fights to prevent the town’s conservative leaders from shutting it down. Sam must navigate the challenges posed by these elders to ensure that the vibrant sounds of rock 'n' roll can reach the ears of the townsfolk.
