Feeling heartbroken and isolated after Aunt Ginger's departure, Debbie impulsively takes a young boy from a birthday celebration. In true Gallagher fashion, the family devises a scheme to safely return the child while avoiding the notice of the Chicago Police, who are treating the abduction as a high-priority case. Meanwhile, Karen openly flouts Eddie's authority by flirting with Frank, who is bewildered by her advances. He distracts himself with alcohol, runs errands for Sheila, and focuses on locating the lost child. What starts as a harmless fib from Kevin to impress a girl unexpectedly spirals into a marriage proposal for Veronica.
