Alice and Jim are taken aback when DI Mercer reveals that the investigation into Nate is more complicated than they initially thought, casting doubt on everything they believed. Distraught, Alice decides to confront Miriam, putting her directly in the crosshairs. At the same time, Tobi is enraged with the police for their handling of his family's situation, especially as DI Mercer delivers more disappointing news to him.
