As Time Goes By (1992)

Episode Overview

In the series premiere, we are introduced to our protagonists, Lionel and Jean. Lionel, seated in a hotel café, is making the waitress's life difficult with his biting wit, while Jean appears equally rigid and uncompromising. Currently, Lionel is immersed in writing his memoir, "My Life in Kenya," a recurring joke throughout the series, and he needs a secretary for revisions. This leads him to Jean's secretarial service, "…Type for You." Meanwhile, Judith, Jean's daughter, meets Lionel to apologize for the subpar assistance. During their encounter, Lionel asks Judith out, but when he arrives to pick her up, he unexpectedly meets Jean. In an instant, both realize they recognize each other as long-lost romantic partners from 1953.
