Judith convinces Jean to attend Lionel's lecture in Nowrich as a surprise. However, Jean is taken aback to discover that Lionel has a female guest with him. As Lionel grapples with the awkwardness of the situation and his newfound status as an "elephant killer" due to Alistair's exaggerated promotion, Jean finds herself fending off Alistair's flirtatious attempts.
