Stardate: 43872.2. The crew mourns the presumed loss of Data after a shuttle explosion, but their investigation is abruptly halted when Starfleet assigns them to a new mission. Unbeknownst to them, Data has survived and has been kidnapped, now showcased as a prized possession in a collection owned by a dubious individual. As the crew grapples with their grief, they remain unaware of the truth behind Data's fate and the peril he faces in captivity.
