Bob Parkin, Bron's favorite patient, returns to the ward with pneumonia, leaving her shocked when he learns it may be related to HIV, which he adamantly refuses to test for. Bron suspects he genuinely doesn’t know the infection’s source, but she is determined to persuade him to get tested so he can access the latest treatments. In her quest, she discovers Bob’s long-lost ex-lover and sets out to find her for answers. Meanwhile, Luke is involved in a laparotomy for Margaret Quinell, who has multiple tumors, and the consultant believes she has terminal cancer. He’s tasked with informing her of her condition before the biopsy results are in. To his surprise, Margaret takes a calm view of her impending death, eager to reunite with her late husband. David, her estranged son, unexpectedly arrives at the hospital, prompting Connor to navigate the sensitive dynamics as he supports both Margaret and David in mending their relationship.
