Von is shaken when an autopsy suggests she may have played a role in a patient’s death. Meanwhile, Charlotte and Vincent are grappling with their own personal and professional errors. Over the past few months, Von has been visiting Vera in the ICU and has taken on the responsibility of supporting her daughter, Madeleine. After Vera's life support is turned off, Madeleine seeks someone to blame, and Von finds herself facing a civil lawsuit. She begins to question whether trying to assist Vera at the accident scene was a mistake. Lesley Hall arrives in the Emergency department suffering from chronic diarrhea and dehydration after a wild holiday in Europe and a long flight from London. Admitted for dehydration, she proves challenging for Sterlo and Charlotte, as her caffeine addiction leads her to resist the nil by mouth directive.
