Charlotte earns the trust of an elderly Polish man who has been admitted, and through a translator, she learns about the appalling conditions at the boarding house he’s been living in. Meanwhile, Mitch, drowning in alcohol again, loses control and strikes Terri. The next day, he wakes up with a hangover to find that she has left. Desperate to make amends, he heads to the hospital, only to learn Terri never showed up. Frantic with worry, he tracks her to her sister Margaret’s home, where he explodes in anger at Margaret's husband. Both Mitch and Terri sense something is seriously wrong, prompting Mitch to get a CT scan, revealing troubling news.
