Digimon Tamers (2001)

Episode Overview

Rika and Renamon face a dilemma as they question their reliance on each other for strength. When a swarm of aggressive Flybeemon attacks, Renamon successfully fends them off but starts to reflect on Impmon's words about gaining power independently of a human tamer. Later, she encounters Harpymon, who quickly overpowers her. Just as Harpymon is about to defeat her, Rika rushes in and drives a tree branch into Harpymon, giving Renamon a chance to escape and digivolve into Kyubimon. With newfound power, Kyubimon easily defeats Harpymon but chooses not to absorb her data, realizing that Rika's friendship is what truly empowers her. In the end, Kyubimon and Rika reconcile.
