Big Momma visited her son, Big Boss, in Empire City to join him at a charity auction organized by Commissioner Highwaters. Despite being a notorious kingpin, Big Boss found it challenging to maintain his facade in front of his mother. To keep up appearances, he went so far as to pretend he was managing an orphanage, with his henchmen disguised as orphans, all in an effort to hide his true nature from her.
