Indian Hill Railways (2010)
S01E03 The Kalka-Shimla Railway
Episode Overview
Shimla, once the summer capital of the British Raj, is marked by remnants of colonial architecture like churches, schools, and a town hall, embodying a legacy of duty, loyalty, and ambition while leaving behind a fractured subcontinent. Among the characters are Maqsood, a Kashmiri porter and refugee, and John Whitmarsh-Knight, a teacher in search of a place to belong. Sanjay, the stationmaster, is eager for a promotion, while his superior, Bataljit, anticipates a transfer. Yet, all of them share a common longing—waiting for the snow to arrive.
