Episode Overview

Malcolm Wyatt recruits Ally to represent him in a lawsuit against a girl who backed out of attending prom with him after initially agreeing in the fall. Ally feels anxious about facing Larry Paul, the opposing attorney, but he doesn't appear in court. Instead, his partner Coretta informs Ally that he has gone to Detroit. Meanwhile, Richard brings Jane Wilco on board as the new secretary, but after she receives a chilly reception from some colleagues, he reflects on how the once warm atmosphere of the office has changed. Ally, communicating with Billy's ghost, decides to accompany Malcolm to prom as his date, encouraging him to perform a solo and to keep believing in love.
