Episode Overview

In the wake of September 11, Barry, a man grappling with the loss of his wife and subsequent joblessness, turns his grief into anger. He blames his wife’s former boss, the owner of an employment agency, for his misfortunes and decides to kidnap her for ransom. He specifies that the money be handed over at a bookstore, but when the exchange occurs, Barry's frustration escalates, leading him to take the customers inside hostage. Among them is Samantha, whose connection to Jack complicates the tense situation even further.
