As the sun shines once more, late winter arrives in ANWR. An unexpected rival poses a challenge to Tyler and Ashley's progress. Heimo and Edna prepare to say their last farewell to their oldest cabin, while Charlie takes great care in constructing his very first cabin, pondering his future in the wilderness. The Seldens set out on a four-day trapping journey, facing potentially perilous weather. Heimo finds himself in a battle with a pack of wolves for a moose that will sustain them through winter. Meanwhile, the girls are busy renovating the Lewis cabin but still have much to learn about their new surroundings.
