In the wake of the oil-rig fire, Kim steps up to look after Michael's baby daughter, Alisa, a responsibility she embraces wholeheartedly. However, Nikki believes that Kim may not be mature enough for the role and reaches out to Alisa's birth mother, causing a rift with her own daughter. Simultaneously, Professor Oglevee attempts to challenge his therapist's claim that he has feelings for Nikki by seeking to revive his relationship with Toni.
