Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999)
S07E16 Gone
Episode Overview
Doug Waverly and Nick Pratt face serious charges of rape and murder in connection with the vanishing of Canadian student Jennifer Durning, following claims from Nick's cousin, Jason King. Jason asserts that although he had consensual relations with her, the other two assaulted her. A stray pubic hair leads Novak to Keith Willis, a drunken man who was bribed by the boys to remove Jennifer from the hotel and later witnessed her abduction. However, Willis's reliability as a witness is compromised due to his long struggle with alcohol. As Jason King goes missing, the discovery of a bug in Judge Donnelly's office fails to link it to Pratt or Waverly. Ultimately, the judge has no choice but to dismiss the case, as Jason's testimony is crucial.
