Sean and Beverly are still processing the network's choice to cast Matt LeBlanc as the lead in their show. However, during a lavish dinner party at Merc's place, they find Matt to be incredibly charming and complimentary about their work. As the evening unfolds, the underlying tension between Matt and Beverly begins to escalate, revealing just how unwise it is to make a rival of the former Friend.
