In 1968, an 8-year-old girl is kidnapped and assaulted. The police in Los Angeles nearly apprehend her captor, but he manages to escape to New York, where he murders another young woman. This marks the start of a chilling series of killings targeting girls and women. When investigators uncover the identity of the perpetrator, they are stunned to discover that it’s a charismatic and good-looking photographer. Astonishingly, Rodney Alcala is later selected to participate in the national game show "The Dating Game."
